I really enjoyed reading the Quick Reads especially as I am mum to three daughters and work full time. The chance to get lost in something even only for 20 minutes is something to be treasured. I also found that reading more has improved my literacy skills. I would love to write my own Quick Reads too for others to enjoy. It really has inspired me.
Book one: Red for revenge by Fanny Blake
I found this book predictable, funny and enjoyable all women should read this book it has some great tips for teaching your man a lesson.
Book two: A sea change by Victoria Henry
Quite a good read, you can really picture the author’s explanation of the characters and surroundings. Could have been improved with a better ending. Would have loved to have carried on this story.
Book three: A baby at the beach café by Lucy Diamond
Not quite what I expected but still a good read. Very descriptive, especially the labour part. I actually felt I was going through it too.
Book four: Dead man talking by Roddy Doyle
Funny, though a little saucy. I didn’t quite grasp the ending. Almost like groundhog day. Lots of very short chapters.
Book five: Pictures or it didn’t happen by Sophie Hannah
Got quite bored halfway through reading this. Not that interesting.
Book six: A dream come true written by Maureen Lee
A great book, especially for the mature woman. Can really relate to the main character Maggie. Couldn’t put it down.
