  1. I think that reading does have many benefits; it helps broaden your horizons, helps you with your grammar and increase your ability to imagine as many things as you want. I also think that reading helps me see different places without leaving my seat.

  2. I love Wilbur Smith and John Grisham. I have now read all John Grisham's books and only 1 more book to read by Wilbur Smith. Can anyone recommend other books in a similar vein to these two writers which I could try.

  9. I work in a library and thought I'd try out the six book challenge so I could recommend it to other readers. It's been great! Hope you have been enjoying it too. Just finished the last book in the "Stormdancer" fantasy series by Jay Kristoff - it was called "Endsinger". All three books have been totally amazing, some of the best fantasy I've read in a long time.

  10. I am a Community Tutor doing the 6 Book Challenge with my Functional Skills English class for adults in Worcester at Fairfield Learning Centre. We are really enjoying talking about different books, blogs and poems. I hope some of my learners will add their comments and review the books they are reading too.

They have been quick stories but the last one was bigger. i loved the New East Enders series by Tower Hamlet college for ESOL students. i am very proud of myself for all the books i have read.

  14. This 6 Book Challenge helped open my mind up about the world around me; I had depression last year and I felt like I lost everything as the result, but when I was advised to check the website out, I started reading straight away, going through different genres, trying new things and even had a chance to review what I read. It's the best website I have ever had the pleasure using. It helped me to stop, drop everything and read. It helped to realise my potential and to forget horrible events last year.

  20. Can't believe it took me so long to actually participate! I'm loving this so far. If you're looking for good books or maybe even older editions, try your local charity shop - I've bagged myself loads of great reads so far and it's barely cost me a thing. Makes a difference from walking into Waterstones with a full purse then walking out with an empty one, plus having sold my firstborn child just to pay for what I've purchased.

  22. My most recent read was A Spy Who Came In From The Cold. A Thriller indeed from start to finish! John LeCarre stands alone as the writer who delivered gripping story lines. Many of us probably have forgot about the 'Cold War' times. Have a read of this one and experience the atmosphere of that world. The book was a great read for me.

My current book to read is On the Beach, by Nevil Shute. I wonder where this one will take me. I'll share my impressions later on.

  23. I can't remember the last time I actually read a book. The only thing stopping me is making time to actually sit down and read. Although a bit late, I'll give this a go!

  24. I have just read a book called life's too short, with true stories about life at work from various people. This book is a quick read book but very interesting, engaging and true in its title. Life is too short, and it is important to do the things we love or feel to do, as we wouldn't want to regret anything later. This six book challenge is good and I am uncovering a new world of reading. I never thought once you chose a good book, that you thoroughly want to read, it can keep you occupied for ages until you finish the book.

  30. I left reading for a while due to driving to work rather than getting the train. But I am getting back into the swing of things. One the best places I have been finding books are charity shops. Prices can vary from 25pence to £3 pounds but you can get good condition books
