My first book was Spitfire by Jon E Lewis.
I liked the true stories from real pilots, made me feel like I was up in the sky with them.
The second book I read was We won the lottery by Danny Buckland.
This was a short story, I found it interesting and fun to read.
My third book was Is this a witch’s house by Ros McKenzie.
This is a true story about evacuation in World War II.
While it was very interesting to read, I found it a little slow paced.
My fourth book was Bomber Crew by James Taylor & Martin Davidson.
A long book, but a good one. I particularly enjoyed the true survivor accounts.
My fifth book was Bomb Girls by Jacky Hyams.
Out of all my reads I enjoyed this one the best, and it is one that I would read again.
My final book was Letters from the Trenches by Jaqueline Wadsworth.
I liked it, but wasn’t as good as I thought it would be.
I have enjoyed this year’s Reading Ahead and I have now signed up for 16/17.
I’ve also been taking part in a Quick Reads book club through our Learning Centre.
